Janusz Siadlak

Janusz Siadlak is one of the best conductors in Poland, and the winner of the Special Prize of The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for inestimable services for the Polish musical culture. He is a creator of new trends and musical solutions, initiator and author of many artistic events (Academic Musical Meetings, Musicalia Czestochowiana, Music in the Temples, Palace Concerts), including the International Festival of the Bach Family, which with every year gains more popularity. Janusz Siadlak is the founder and conductor of the Collegium Cantorum choir- presently the choir of the Czestochowa Philharmonic- with which he has been very successful both in Poland and abroad. He is also a co-founder and the artistic director of the Polish chamber Voices.

This baton master has co-operated with numerous famous groups and individuals from the world of art, classical and pop music: Song and Dance Ensemble "Śląsk", where he was a Master of the Choir, Wroclaw Chamber Orchestra “Leopoldinum”, Capella Cracoviensis, Accademia dell’Arcadia, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Gliwice Chamber Orchestra, Sudecka Philharmonic Orchestra, Częstochowa Philharmonic Orchestra, Polski Chór Kameralny, Polish Radio Choir, Marek Bałata, Łukasz Zagrobelny, Jan Łukaszewski, Paweł Łukaszewski, Miłosz Bembinow, Sierra Manta, soloists of the Grand Theatre—National Opera in Warsaw, soloists of the Vienna Opera’s Theatres and many other European Cities.

His work has been appreciated by the Provincial Governor and awarded with a prestigious prize for lifetime career, and by the President of the city for exceptional achievements in music. He has been awarded numerous prizes for “the best conductor”.

A graduate of musical education at Wyższa Szkoła Pedagogiczna ( College of Pedagogics) in Częstochowa, and Postgraduate College for Choirmasters of The Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, which he completed with excellent results. He has taken part in courses, seminars and conferences run by eminent conductors and representatives of world choral studies, including professor Heinrich Poos from Frankfurt am Main, Dr. Hans Jaskulsky from the Bochum Conservatory, Dr. Hayashi Hikaru from the Tokyo University, Uwe Gronostay from the Berlin Philharmonic, professor Tatsuya Muratani from Tokyo, or Director of the Polish Chamber Choir Jan Lukaszewski.

The choirmaster Janusz Siadlak is a charismatic person and the leader of positive changes. A famous Polish composer Paweł Łukaszewski described him using these words: " Thanks to work with Janusz Siadlak, [musicians] have gained new personality, sensitive for the art, and because of that – for other people”.

The area of particular focus for Janusz Siadlak is deepening people`s sensitivity for the quality and expression of sound, and getting a variety of timbre by dredging up singers` vocal backgrounds until reaching the best possible homogeneity of the choir`s tone.
